Homemade Taco Seasoning

Remember that time I talked about that “why buy it when I can make it myself” kick that I’ve been on? Well I wanted to share another homemade amazingness! This Taco Seasoning is so delicious and SOOO much better that any packaged seasoning you can buy in a store! It has so much for flavor and this allows you to tweak it to the amount of spice you want. Added to the fact that it’s so stinkin easy and you can store it until your next Taco Tuesday night! You don’t have to just use this for tacos though! You can use it any time  a recipe calls for taco seasoning.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 9 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 6 tsp Fine Sea Salt
  • 6 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 3 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • ½ tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ tsp Dried Oregano
  • ½ tsp Granulated Sugar

Directions:

  • In a small bowl, stir all ingredients until well combined
  • Store in air-tight container
  • Makes 5.2 oz

Note:

  • 3 Tbsp of Homemade Taco Seasoning = 1 pkg. of Store-Bought Taco Seasoning
  • When making tacos:
    • Cook hamburger meat in a skillet on med-hight heat until meat is completely cooked through
    • Drain if necessary and return meat to pan
    • Add 3 Tbsp of Homemade Taco Seasoning along with 1/3 cup of water
    • Mix until meat is covered in Taco Seasoning
    • Scoop meat into your favorite tortilla or taco boat and top with your favorite toppings, i.e. shredded cheese, fresh diced tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, your favorite sauce

Enjoy 🙂
