Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies (EXTRA Recipe Inside!)

I mean come on! Who doesn’t LOVE Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies?! A crazy person, that’s who! These cookies are so easy to whip up for a quick/simple dessert or afternoon snack. And perfect for teaching our future bakers! Also tuned for a special treat at the end! Because a super awesome cookie recipe isn’t sweet enough 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ Cups All-Purpose Flour (Add an Additional ¼-½ Cup for a Fluffier Cookie)
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup (2 Sticks) Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Large Eggs, Room Temperature
  • 2 Cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • In a medium bowl, mix dry ingredients – flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt – and set aside
  • In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar; add vanilla and eggs one at a time until well combined
  • With the mixer on a low-speed, slowly add the bowl of dry ingredients and mix just until dough comes together; fold in chocolate chips
  • Drop heating spoonfuls of batter or use a cookie dough scoop for a more uniform look onto the prepped baking sheet
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown

*Dough makes about 24 medium cookies

CONGRATULATIONS!
You’ve made it to your special treat! Now if you are anything like me, you have a hard time NOT eating that delicious dough because apparently it’s “bad for you“. Well my fellow Taylors DO NOT FRET! I have found a solutionEdible Cookie Dough! NO baking and NO eggs! Seems too good to be true but I promise you this stuff is the real deal. I would never lead you astray, ESPECIALLY with edible cookie dough!

Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
  • ¾ Cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2-4 Tbsp Almond Milk, Milk or Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ¼ Cup Flour
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips (I’ve always used the regular size and they work just perfectly)

Directions:

  • Using mixer, cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth
  • Add milk/cream, salt, and vanilla; mix until well combined
  • Add flour and mix well
  • Fold in regular or mini chocolate chips
  • Store leftovers in refrigerator; freeze for up to 3 months

*There is a small risk you can still get sick from eating raw flour. Please consume at your own risk. (P.S. I make this ALL THE TIME and I haven’t ever gotten sick…just saying)
